Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Senior VFX Artist who possesses a deep understanding of creating captivating and engaging visual effects for mobile games. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver with a proven track record of delivering high-quality VFX that enhances the overall gameplay experience.

Most importantly, we’re not looking for any kind of artists but Game Artists who love, live and breathe games. It’s a great opportunity to explore and push yourself as you’ll be surrounded by other Game Makers who also love games and together, you’ll work to build worlds, characters and games to be loved and enjoyed by millions of players for years to come.

What you will do:

• Conceptualize, design, and implement high-quality VFX for a variety of mobile game elements, including particles, explosions, projectiles, & magical effects.

• Collaborate closely with the development team, including designers, product managers, and engineers to translate VFX requirements into game-ready assets.

• Storyboarding for VFX to communicate with team or outsource vendors.

• Create and iteratively develop game assets such as geometry, textures, sprites, and custom shaders from conception to final for VFX.

• Work with technical artists and engineers to ensure VFX integrates seamlessly with the game engine and gameplay mechanics.

• Contribute to the overall art direction of the game by ensuring that VFX align with the game's style and aesthetic.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest VFX trends and techniques to create awesome visual effects that captivate mobile gamers.

• Optimise and maintain quality control to ensure that VFX assets meet the performance requirements for mobile devices.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior VFX artists to foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

• Prepare briefs and provide feedback to VFX outsource partners.

What you bring:

• 5+ years of experience in VFX for video games, with a focus on mobile games.

• Proven track record of creating high-quality VFX for successful mobile game titles.

• Expertise in VFX principles, including particle systems, fluids, explosions, and lighting.

• Strong understanding of mobile game development processes and constraints.

• Experience in using Unity, Unreal, Maya, Photoshop for VFX creation.

• Good understanding of weight, timing and animation principles.

• Knowledge of 3D Modelling, Texturing.

• Passion for mobile games and a deep understanding of player preferences.
